Everything you do in HopeScroll — your quiz answers, your archetype result, your liked cards, your planner entries, your journal notes — is stored in your browser's local storage. It never leaves your device unless you choose to share it yourself. Clearing your browser data will erase it permanently; we have no copy.
When you open an AI-generated feed (rather than the curated static feed), a summary of your pattern profile is sent to our server and from there to Anthropic, the company that powers the AI. This includes:
When you choose to generate an AI-personalized feed, your quiz pattern and a subset of your responses are sent to our secure proxy server to generate your content. They are not stored, logged, or associated with any identifier. Your data is never sold or shared with third parties. If you choose the curated library feed, nothing is transmitted.
The AI that generates your feed is Claude, made by Anthropic. Your pattern summary is processed by Anthropic's API in accordance with their privacy policy, available at anthropic.com/privacy. Anthropic does not use API inputs to train their models by default.
A short non-reversible hash of your IP address is written to our server logs for abuse detection, held for up to 7 days, and then automatically discarded by our hosting provider. It is never written to disk, stored in a database, logged, or shared with any third party.
Under GDPR, an IP address is considered personal data. If you are based in the EU or EEA, this processing is carried out on the basis of legitimate interest for abuse prevention.
This applies to web traffic only. The iOS and Android apps do not collect or transmit IP addresses.
We do not use cookies. We do not run analytics. We do not track you across sessions or devices. There is no advertising.
If this policy changes materially, we will update the effective date above. The app does not have a mechanism to notify you directly, so checking back here is the only way to see updates.
